My body of work continues a previous investigation into feelings of isolation which can be felt within the boundaries of our major cities, juxtaposing the conventional notions of city life. Drawing on inspiration from paintings such as Nighthawks by Edward Hopper contrasting the warmth of light with the dark of the night, I want the audience to be immersed in the isolated environment presented before them, and allow them to appreciate the haunting and surreal experience that can lie in the solitary exploration of our large urban environments.
