It's one of those things, going on holiday on your own. Like going to the cinema or eating at a restaurant alone.
I've never done the cinema thing, but a year of hotel living has taught me the hotel one. And now that I've done the holiday thing, I'm well on my way.
Same place as yesterday, but 36 hours later.

I spent my New Year alone, sick with a cold in my San Francisco hotel room. But at dinner earlier in the evening, diners were presented with noisemakers by the staff. So there was that. :)
And I swear by solo cinema-going, actually.

Ash - This is one of my favorites in your photostream not only because it is a beautiful picture, but also because I can relate to enjoying time alone. Every few months I have to go away for a few days so I can hear the thoughts in my head and listen to what they are saying. Solitude can be a wonderful thing.
Would you mind if I paint this photo? In a couple of weeks I'll be taking a class on painting night scenes, and this might work well for what I am planning. - Carla
