I happened upon this odd guy downtown as I was looking for my black and white background. A local activist has a whole scene of odd sculptures set up to demonstrate his anger at "The Man." This guy (along with the Monopoly man covered in spiders made from gourds) was part of the display. None of it makes a whole lotta sense. In fact, I'd say it's all a bit preposterous. ;)

This has been the hardest assignment so far--simply because I had so much trouble finding a black background and a white background with anything even slightly interesting in front of them! I did my best with what I found. And now, on to the next!...

A friend gave me this little guy (called a Pocket Buddy) this week and I have fallen in love with him and his little doggie nose and ridiculous pastel hat. I thought he might be perfect for this assignment. He didn't disappoint.

Took this photo with my eyes closed after assessing the space and taking note of what I might find interesting in a photo. I didn't think I would find any inspiration in my apartment, but I rather like this photo. Glad I decided to watercolor today. One art helps another.
