Obama in the 'hood

Barack Obama came to santa barbara city college today for his campaign rally before the evening big event at Oprah's house.

I could hear the warm up speeches from the campaign organizers at my house so jumped on my beach cruiser, got a press pass and started shooting...I was actually impressed by his 45 minute speach.

He is impressive in so many ways. I wish he'd change his position on a few key things though so that I could be more supportive.

Regardless, I think he's capable of bringing people together, and that's critically important right now. But having said that, I also remember that people said the exact same thing about Bush before (and immediately after) he was elected, noting how he had worked very closely with Dems in Texas and earned their respect. Yet, we all know how his Presidency has turned out.

I'm not a big political brain (the last seven years has turned me off to the whole issue), but I did see first hand on how he (Obama) does bring people together and the enthusiasm they have to fix the country.

I for one saw through Bush's tactics and I remember saying "he is his fathers son". I'm glad that term is coming to and end to be personally honest with you.
