This awful photo was snapped just before this Art Deco theatre was razed in 1989, to build a hideous glass office building and a 6-plex theater.

Thanks, utahmariner. You're right about the location of the Ding Ho. It was in the Brooks Arcade on Broadway. When I referred to the Ding Ho being across the street, I meant it was across the street from Baker's Shoes, where I worked. At that time, Broadway Shoe Repair was right next door to the Ding Ho. I would occasionally walk over to the Ding Ho to buy fried rice to go for the staff of the shoe store. I don't think I ever had a table and ate there in the restaurant.

Just seeing your response arts - Yes! that's exactly where the Ding Ho was - does anyone have a photo? When I am really in a nostalgic SLC mood, I sometimes try that lucid dreaming trick or even a sort of astral projection and this is one of the locations I was trying to "retrieve"! Just glad to hear someone else remembers it. Oh that we could time travel and see this wonderful old places again...
