Snelgrove's sign damage

    This north end of this sign was crushed on both sides, probably by a truck hitting it. Already, Dreyer's, the owner of Snelgrove's, had just this week announced the discontinuation of the Snelgrove's brand and said it hadn't decided on the fate of this sign.       Not to be overly cynical, but the Snelgrove sign has one positive side to it that will most likely keep it around: a prominent Republican family's name.

      Hmmm....I think the Republican name would help if Dreyer's was a Utah-based company. Still, I'm hopeful that they won't do anything rash, and that they'll get a lot of local pressure to leave the sign there. Anyone care to join me when I chain myself to this baby?

      I think there is some people in the 15 and 15 area that have one of the cones from one of the locations. I remember see it in their yard.

      This sign brings back loads of memories, chowing ice cream as a wee lad with my aunt. It would be a terrible shame to see it go :(
