I did notice, as did i noticed the "Taken on July 5, 2008"
- Figured there may be a chance, albeit very minimal, the piece was still around.

There might be some confusion here.
When shellshock photos says "you can JUST see it if you look closely" he's not talking about the 'long since gone' comment -he's referring to the fact that even though it has been buffed there is faint shading left after the black paint has been removed from the wall.
Sorry for any misunderstanding about the date.

Wow - I'm sure I've photographed this stairway in the last couple of weeks... I didn't have any idea this was once the site of a Banksy! I really have to start paying attention to the walls and the shadows when I am walking the streets of London!
