strange - well its an old steak house that had been recently taken over by an asian family. And while they had kept the exterior signage the same - the interiors were a mix of old-steakhouse meets chinese food place. the food was also an odd fusion of NZ steak with asian stir fry veges. It was good food, but not what we expected. I hope the locals warm to the new owners as Napier is not like Wellington.

no, English was not the problem...it was the odd mix of tastes - steak meets asian veg and the presentation was strange too! good experience - not what we expected.
