Listening from up on the hill above Stern Grove's concert area to Joan Baez' lovely voice floating through the trees. Stern Grove hosts summer concerts for free, we drove up to SF and found they weren't letting any more people into the concert area so we joined the throngs of people perching on the hillsides up above the grove to listen, though we couldn't see.

Stern Grove in San Francisco

One of our fellow listeners. We were told that there were upwards of 10,000 people there for the concert. From where we were it wasn't as crowded. ;)

Stern Grove in SF

We brought along things to keep us occupied, and a large beach towel to sit on, and we ended up in a large puppy pile together. I brought my latest knitting project, a hat pattern I'm devising. The yarn is almost a fluorescent purple in the sun. :)
