An Aircraft Carrier, actually. "Warship" is the accepted generic term. I don't think there are any Battleships in the present fleet, but I could be wrong. Any idea which one this is?

I thought it was an aircraft carrier at first but that platform where the people are standing is not an extension of the deck to act as a runway by any means, or though it may be a helicopter landing stage perhaps. I though it strange that the warship has no name or number markings.
We speculated that it may have been being used for Greenwich Naval College ceremonial puposes.
Who knows?

The platform looks like the so-called ski-jump used to assist the Harriers in taking off. At least one of these carriers (the Invincible class) has a high-angle model, which probably does look quite weird to the uninitiated.

HMS ILLUSTRIOUS
The 22,500 tonne aircraft carrier has sailed up the River Thames into London for the Remembrance Sunday services,

HMS Illustrious moored in Greenwich on Tuesday after sailing along the Thames past Gravesend, the Queen Elizabeth Bridge and the Thames Barrier.

The Portsmouth based warship will be the centrepiece of the Royal Navy's Remembrance services, with 50 sailors visiting St Paul's Cathedral this Sunday. The crew will also be participating in the Lord Mayor's show on Saturday.
