Helleborus Argutifolius
This is growing in the Roundabout bed - a raised island bed in the centre of our 'roundabout' shaped drive. It's probably about ten years old, flowers regularly each December/January and self seeds all over the place. Baby hellebores pop up in the tiniest of nooks and crannies but they're almost impossible to salvage because their long root is fragile and breaks off easily. This is one of seven similar flowerspikes on the plant at present. I even saw a large bumblebee foraging for nectar in one of these flowers!
