Very nice lighting. I also like the way the wine came out as a "twisted ribbon" and the swirl it made at the bottom of the glass. Good job!

Amazing! The clarity of the wine, the way it almost looks outlined in black is really striking!

Thanks for the compliments and comments everyone. If I was to do this again - and I think I will - I would add a second flash to add a bit of light (and colour) to the wine bottle. I would also make sure the glass was perfectly clean and that the wine bottle had not distracting bits on it. I think I should of had the flash behind the bottle a bit further back to get some better coverage. All in all a good start.

Wow, I love how you captured the pour before the glass started filling. The sinusoidal stream of red wine is beautiful

      Hi Arlo,

This is a great photo! I hope it's ok if I use it in my latest blog post on new yeast strains that prevent people with red wine allergies from getting sick when drinking it (I was sure to cite you).

My blog is called Real Research, Real Simple and explains research in fun, everyday language. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out (I write the blog for the Sunnybrook Research Hospital in Toronto, Canada):
