I *heart* Christmas

I absolutely love Christmas. It's my favorite time of the year. Getting to see the joy in our children when Christmas time rolls around is exciting for me as a parent.

Jessie is getting really jazzed about Christmas this year. She already has a wish list which she keeps telling me about. On her list so far are a digital camera, new shoes, and a "skeletope". The first time she told me she wanted a skeletope (pronounced skel-ah-tope), I was all, "A what???" "A skeletope." "What's a skeletope?" "The thing you can look with one eye and see things far far away." "Ohhhhh....a telescope?" "Yeah...a skeletope" :D It's too cute, I don't bother correcting her anymore.

I also love Christmas because it gives me some leverage as a parent. Jessie behaves a little better around this time of year. She's been really darling lately because she knows that I call Santa every night to give him a status report on her behavior. ;) Last night before bedtime, she was doing something that I told her not to do, so I grabbed the phone and told her, "Okay I'm calling Santa." She immediately stopped and was all, "No! Okay okay." Muhuahahaha...power! ;)
