Taken in Paris, France. It's interesting to see how the mind can
abstract what the eye is looking at. For me it was all about that
outstanding tree, back lighted with the hotel lights just before the
natural light was about to disappear. But what the mind can do, the
camera cannot, so in order to take the picture I just needed to take
into account that I was on a busy street of a rather busy area of
Paris, full of distractions that inevitably would fill my frame and
take the attention off the tree. In this case, I needed to wait for
the traffic light to stop the cars, and reframe the image so that the
composition will focus the eye directly into the tree. So it's not
about pointing and shooting. It's about knowing what your area of
interest is, what do you want to point too, understand what else is
filling the frame and where it's filling it, reframe it in order to
weight the balance of the different elements, analyze weather your
subject is the main area of interest within the frame as it is and
finally shoot. I think it worked in this case.
