It should be to late in the year to see them, but this one surprised me this morning. A lifer!

This beautiful bunting has a declining population in Sweden. The males stays where they were born, the femaies seeks new breeding grounds. But when the population is scattered the females don't find the males! The Ortolan Bunting is also threatened by hunting (France) and loss of habitat.

Last fall we had the Little Stint at the old sludge ponds at the treatment plant in Uppsala. Now we had a Temminck's Stint instead, this time in breeding plumage.
