Some people spend a lot of time trying to discover mathematical regularity in natural objects (sunflower seed patterns, logarithmic spirals in shells etc.) - for me it has always been more interesting to look at natural irregularity and imperfections and how to include them into the design process. The two examples on the right are standard approaches when using computer aided design packages - the one on the left is a bit more time-consuming, but worth it, I think.

Basically like all my work. Designed in a 3D modelling package, self-written software to unfold it - the software also adds tabs automatically, crease with blunt letter opener, cut with scalpel and when you glue the tabs together it looks like this on the inside.
