Horned God

Coming home yesterday I noticed this fellow who seemed to watch me almost as intensely as I was watching him. He's a big chap! I'm 1.90m tall and we look one another straight in the eye!

Roosting Grey Heron

Traveling to Scotland with Bessie to have her radiotherapy we stop near an old abbey for a walk. A river runs through the grounds of the abbey and morning and evening you can often see grey herons on the river. This morning they were still sleeping as we walked along the riverside path. So I'm afraid the iso is a little high but it was essentially around dawn.
