You got it!! I tried to catch this shot so
many times I can't count! I lived in
Clayoquote sound for three decades and was a
whale/nature tour guide from the mid-eighties
until 2002 and only managed to get a couple
breaching Orca shots in all those years. This
was the one I wanted! Good for you! Thanks for the visit ;) --I will look around
here~
That Orca was under water on my right as I
had my camera on the rest of the family when
all of a sudden I heard the water break and
swung around to get that shot. My lens was a
little long so the cropping was by default ;)
and I was lucky to be at least half-focused
for it--it happpens so fast!
Shoreline viewing is very rare on Vancouver
Island, L pod hangs out off East Sooke Parks
sometimes, other shore line viewing in the
southern gulf include Pender and Galiano
Islands, the best chance of seeing whales
from shore is on San Juan Island at Lime Kiln
Lighthouse.

Oh, I forgot to answer your question, the rainbow photo was taken from my upper lanai here on the east point of the Island of Hawaii.
