You got it!! I tried to catch this shot so many times I can't count! I lived in Clayoquote sound for three decades and was a whale/nature tour guide from the mid-eighties until 2002 and only managed to get a couple breaching Orca shots in all those years. This was the one I wanted! Good for you!
Thanks for the visit ;) --I will look around here~

Oh, I forgot to answer your question, the rainbow photo was taken from my upper lanai here on the east point of the Island of Hawaii.

      Re: Cropped Orca of mine.

That Orca was under water on my right as I had my camera on the rest of the family when all of a sudden I heard the water break and swung around to get that shot. My lens was a little long so the cropping was by default ;) and I was lucky to be at least half-focused for it--it happpens so fast!

Come on out with the Prince of Whales :)

Shoreline viewing is very rare on Vancouver Island, L pod hangs out off East Sooke Parks sometimes, other shore line viewing in the southern gulf include Pender and Galiano Islands, the best chance of seeing whales from shore is on San Juan Island at Lime Kiln Lighthouse.
