Red Hot Poker

This is Kniphifia rooperi which is later flower than the rest of its family. The blooms usually appear in September and there are still some around now. I love the brilliance of the orange and yellow colouration - this is no shrinking violet! I just felt the oval shape suited this particular bloom.
