The Russell Gnomon electric upright bass was introduced to the Russell Guitars line of models in July 2008. It is an ergonomic electric bass guitar that is played in an upright position, thus relieving stress on hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders of bass guitar players.

The Gnomon is available as both a four and five string bass, and may have a standard or fanned fretboard. The Steinberger adjustable foot and stand is included and attaches easily to the back of the bass.
