View from Athabasca Hotel Room (Jasper, Alberta)
Not a bad view, eh?
When we stayed here, I couldn't believe the great bargain we got on our room rate - but then again, I should've paid better attention when the reservationist said "You might want to bring earplugs."
Our room was right over the all-night, "live entertainment" Atha-B Pub. And if the boom, boom, boom reverberations of an electric bass don't keep you awake half the night, the revellers pouring out of the pub at 3:00AM will provide you with some amusing stories to tell the folks back home ;-)
Nice location, but not so great if you want a good night's sleep (and the abundance of dead animal heads hanging on the walls in the lobby are a tad disturbing...)

this pic makes my heart sink. left this beautiful piece of heaven in 2002. spent most of two years there and I worked in said Atha-B pub. not a day goes by I don't wish I was there living what made me so happy then. is it too late for a 33 year old to find themselves? I think I'd find myself in Jasper. thank you for the picture. nostalgia at its best
