Octagonal Barn

This is my best shot of this barn, built in 1900 Just S of Milo , IA What I found strange about this barn is that 2 of its sides are not solid. they are sided in a inverted section, one with posts looking like its meant for animals to come in from the wind maybe to set out dry feed.. The other was just an open inverted section. Maybe meant for storage of equipment? these inverted sides are directly across form one another.

As you can see the sun was at an angle and i couldnt avoid some flare
