My Paul Newman Tribute

I woke up this morning and learned about Paul Newman's passing through an e-mail I received from my brother. I had feared this day was approaching as rumour of his illness leaked onto the global stage. I spent all day drawing this portait of his lead character in Hud, which I watched on DVD as I drew. It's a fine fine film and he was, by most reports, a fine fine man.

it's hard not to admire Paul Newman for putting his money to work in such productive ways, such as his Newman's Own line--high quality stuff and the proceeds go to good causes... very smart.
