Great news everyone !
I have an update for my stylus.
This works with the iPad, iPod touch, iPhone and capacitive trackpads of laptops.
I used to draw on the iPod touch with an Allen key covered with a piece on wet sponge.
#1 on the picture : "the spongallen"
This tool had some major problems :
- It's wet on the screen
- you have to keep it wet...
- then becomes quickly disgusting...
- doesn't work that great
I took a knife, removed of the blade holder :
#2 : you don't need this part
You can see the final stylus in the center, with a schematic view on its right.
This is what you need to make it :
#3 a piece of plastic bag
#4 some tape
#5 some salt (maybe not necessary but the cargo needs devotion)
#6 a piece of sponge, sorry bob
What you have to do is to fill the hole with a sponge, you have to push it hard, so that the sponge is not soft.
Put some water in a glass, add salt and dive the stylus in it.
The sponge itself needs to be very wet but make sure the stylus is dry so that the tape will hold.
Warp the plastic around, fix with the tape : voilà !
The new tool, let's call it the "Free Capacitive Stylus" and lets say it's an open source hardware project, has many advantages, among them :
- Very precise because the head is not soft
- you don't have to wet it again
- free for all
If you have some improvements, please share.
