Such a pretty face indeed, but in Djibouti, she's unlikely to be either adequately fed or well cared for.
In Djibouti last month, I had occasion to wander a bit. Wonderful people struggling to cope with 50% unemployment in the city, 80% in the rural areas. I met a young girl like this one who offered to 'watch' our car for us while we ate at a nearby restaurant. When we returned, she was sitting on the curb by our car with her mother and little brother, just waiting. I gave her perhaps $6, and she sweetly asked for more before she'd even seen what I'd given. We laughed and gave her another $12 or so, a fairly useful amount to her and her homeless family. Polite, poor, on the edge of survival with no hope of a way out.
They're gracious, hospitable people and don't object to being photographed, usually. Perhaps we might do more than admire their beautiful struggling children.
