I finally saw Mr. Izo’s exhibit last week and was pleasantly surprised to find out that I employ a photographic technique similar to his. I had always called it Zen Photography, an inner intuition when you wait for however long it takes to soak up vibrations from the atmosphere you are photographing so that when you depress the shutter button you’re capturing not only the image, but hopefully are able to impart the essence of the environment to the viewer. Hopefully you can hear footsteps echoing off the high ceilings and feel the cold, late afternoon winter light flooding in.
