Day 141: Books. etc.The Holy Bible: Christian, this is got to be my most flicked through book, not necessarily this version (KJV), but my NIV to help me understand better (the other one has been covered due to cover-old-age).... Love the bible. I can't expre Perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky: I read this during my late high-school days, and loved every aspect about this book. It's funny, witty, and yet satirical. It hits home in that I understand the protagonist with his battle of being accepted and finding friends. Go read it The boy next doorBy Josie Lloyd & Emilyn Rees: Don't ask. I do like chicklit. And this one is just one of the many I liked best. I love these authors, in that one chapter is written on the perspective of the male (male author) and the other the female. or 2 (or more) characters also. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett: There's a child in all of us, and this is my favourite book from my childhood days. I read this again in my teenage days and re-fell in love with it again. It's a beautiful book and it's a nice portrayal of how beautiful life can be. Jane Eyre By Charlotte Brontë: An all time favourite classic (usually people prefer Pride & Prejudice, I prefer this one hands down)> It's beautiful. The gothic imagery, the descriptive narrative, and the wonderful love story plot. It was the love of this book that got me good grades. Shopaholicby Sophie Kinsella: This is the first book to the series and well, I love them all so dearly. Such amazing literature, and to read about what every woman shopping thinks just makes me LOL. It's great how I can relate to this book, through the finances, shopping and life etc. Purpose Driven LifeBy Rick Warren: Every Christian should read this. It was the most challenging book to read (a strict 40 day contract, reading every day sort of thing). But it opened so many new insights to me, I learned and grew through reading this book within 40 days. Amazing. Harry Potter: The whole blimin series dude. But the last book has got to be the most amazing. Well all of them were, but gradually towards the end things were getting so thick and complex, I love it :) Such adventures. Sigh.... Boy meets girlBy Joshua Harris: All Christian teens/young adults should read this one. And the I Kissed Dating Goodbye. Both are equally good and indeed these books have revolutionised today's young people's thinking about relationships. Hats off to Mr Harris. He helped millions Fairy TalesBy Hans Christian Anderson: This book has been with me since the beginning of time. Ok, maybe not, Was a Christmas present when I developed a relationship with the English Language at a young age. But it was through this book I learnt that books can take you anywhere Oriel in the DesertBy Robert Harrison: Some excellent fiction here, but based on the bible. About an angel that helps Moses and the Exodus. It was this book that made stories from the bible so much more real, and made me love God even more... There's three books in total... Amazing. Dear BobBy Annie Porthouse: This is actually Christian Chicklit and it's a Christian take on Bridget Jones's Diary, but as a Christian writing a diary. I loved it because I can totally relate to it (to some degree) and brings up so many issues that crop up in a Christian's life. a 2 bk we are working through Warren's next forty day book at my church. forty days of community-its good but tough going Yesssss, I loved this book (: My favorite book ever.
![]() Figured I'd introduce a few of my favourite books in this 365 project.
This photo has notes. Move your mouse over the photo to see them.
Of course, there are others that I ultimately love, but sadly I either don't own a copy or I have lent to a friend; thus some are not included :( I borrow books regularly from the library, and a lot of books I end up developing a love affair with. But in the end I have to return them :( In the future, I'd like to have my own library of books, a large collection of books, because, well, I absolutely adore books. I love a good read :) Was a little limited as to what I could say in the notes. But I guess if it weren't for these limitations, I could've written an assignment about each and every book CommentsBas Bleu
