Duck Breast a la The Flay

    The only thing I really wanted to do in Vegas was go to the Mesa Grill. Fortunately, we did just that on Sunday night. The meal was impeccable and a great time. Anne and her friend Tracie drove out from LA and joined us. It was good times.

      Ate there a couple years ago. Great food and great service. Had the cuban pork sandwich with arugula and it was fantastic. First time I had a $100 LUNCH tab. Well, Sollenberger was with me so.....

      I kept wanting to ask the waitress who this "Flay" guy was...but like doughnut jokes, I am sure they hear stupid stuff like that all the time.

      I know I probably shocked everyone and did not have beef! So, no, I didn't try the steak sauce...I bet it was good though. I did however remain true to form and tried 3 of the 4 dinners...all were great. I also kept staring into the kitchen...mesmerized by the grill.

      Jayme, I can easily see how you had a $100 lunch tab! The beer's were ten bucks alone!

      We made reservations and were told that a no-show resulted in a $50 per head fee! It was Elton John's last performance that night, so we wanted to make sure we got a table.
