I have a kestrel falcon visiting my
neighborhood in western Sebastopol, Sonoma
County, California, right now. At my old
house in Occidental (also in western Sonoma
County but further out towards the coast), I
used to watch peregrine falcons and golden
eagles. I always thought that when I die, if
I were to be recreated, I would want to be
brought back as a peregrine falcon. After
watching this kestrel for several days, I
realize that as a very petite redhead, I
would be better suited as kestrel. What a
beautiful, petite bird and what a lesson in
aerodynamics.

Great composition, and nice contrasting edges between the bird and the background colors adds even more pop.
