Double pink

I think this is a double Cosmos flower. It was growing near a bed full of single Cosmos flowers in the Dorothy Harvie Gardens at the Calgary Zoo a week ago. So many of my photos seem to be very dark/with black backgrounds recently. Once the snow flies, I guess my photos will lighten : )

What a beautiful flower. I've never seen a double Cosmos before. The dark background really makes the flower stand out - fantastic lighting! I reminds me of a pink party dress that I had when I was a little girl - it was my favourite!

Never seen a double cosmos - absolutely beautiful patern and arrangement of petals. Anne, the colour is delicious, the prettiest mauve pink so lovely against the black which simplifies and makes this very elegant. Love the light filtering across the flower and the superb dof for stunning detail even in its little yellow heart.

I've never seen a double cosmos before.....they are gorgeous and look so much different than regular cosmos. What a first rate shot of this pink one. I always love your dark backgrounds....it really allows the subjects to stand out. Lovely lighting and sharp focus. Awesome find at the zoo.

After four years of sitting in a closet, my siblings have appointed me to organize and send off mom's 7500 slides to be scanned and stored on DVD/s. Each of us five kids will share in the cost and have dupes made. It will be a huge undertaking for me.....so not looking forward to it....but will need to get started on it soon. I will not have time to flickr except for a few hours at night. I'll probably start in ernest once we go into the rainy season. sigh.

A double cosmos? I know them "single"
They are very different, but both sorts are beautiful.
