This fountain designed to be the focal point of a new backyard patio in what used to be the driveway for the house when it was built in the 1920's. The existing stuccoed wall and large mature BOP's and Canary Island Date palm were already there. The clients had selected the glazed tile while in Spain, and wanted a new fountain to show them off, and give the sound of tinkling water for the garden. The fountain design was meant to do double duty, provide seating for company while also simply looking beautiful as a stage set in the new garden. Surrounding plantings were chosen to complement the "tropical oasis" feeling, while also needing to grow well with little direct sun. One of my personal favorite hardscape designs, and great clients as well, thanks Randy and Katey!
