Selvedges by AnnieKnits

Selvedges

I am very happy with the selvedges for this scarf thanks to my new Bluster Bay EFS! Once I got the hang of winding a pirn (tension is key) the shuttle was a dream to use.

The draft for this pattern is a fairly basic twill. What makes it fancy is grouping warp threads together and threading through one heddle and one reed slot which gives a lacey effect. This has worked well with this yarn as it keeps it from being too stiff and has a nice effect on the texture.

(In knitting terms, I would say it's similar to picking one stitch pattern but in certain sections using a much bigger needle.)

Dark and Handsome

A handsome scarf to keep my husband hot.

Hotty hubby is just that - constantly complaining about the temperature and opening every window in the dead of winter. So I was quite surprised and delighted when he asked for a warm scarf. The yarn is soft to the touch (he's a delicate man despite the brawn) yet toasty warm.

He's very happy with it and wore it today. I'm glad he likes it, now I wonder if he'll let me borrow it...

Let it Snow by AnnieKnits

Let it Snow

Half a snowflake finished, 2.5 to go!

My first legit fairisle project. I'm slowly getting over feeling like Edward Scissorhands and am able to knit English and Continental. It's slow going, but the turtle wins the race.

Waldorf Doll Dress by AnnieKnits

Waldorf Doll Dress

Once I got a hold of the doll, the dress flew off the needles. I had to give the doll back before I could get a modeled picture. It looks much cuter on than laying on my floor!

Pattern tk.
