Seriously.

It's been a year and a couple of weeks since we moved home to Portland and it's been a very challenging year (and a couple weeks) for both us.

From what I know and what I've heard, I think it's safe to assume a lot of you have had a the same sort of year, filled with births, sickness, deaths, celebrations, unemployment, underemployment, not at all helped by this whole recession thing.

Through it all, I'm so glad we're here. I have more perspective here. I have more appreciation and a deeper understanding that this is how life is, here. Sometimes it (life) really sucks ass and sometimes it's freakin' awesome. And I know it's not just my longitude and latitude, but how I've changed as well.

But I also know that living in a house and a city that I feel comfortable and myself in sure as hell helps.
