    Nice outlook! Do join us, and share this lively Milan image in the WILLIAM PHILLIPS [1825-1911] ECO-CENTENARY2011 UK-IRELAND:A1-C1 group. Help find his life-event sites, as we plan his 2011 Centennial Festivities! As a young man, London-born Phillips travelled to Italy with companions, became a Civil Agent, and was with Garibaldi at Caprera. At Milan, he met Cavour’s Agent. He dined at the Quirinal; also“supped at the palace of the Fontana Modino with a friend of Mazzini”. His later British humanitarian campaigns assisted Lancashire’s impoverished cotton-workers, and as a senior, he led actions for Irish Famine Relief. His Municipal reforms helped to protect trees, and to provide park gazebo bandstands.
