Ball was the child-in-a-sweetshop innocent you expect....

A reflection of our times, for the next thousand years....

A newly finished grotesque in the stone carver's workshop of Lincoln cathedral.

A skeletal head with a gold-guilded £2 coin clenched in it's teeth.... £ signs for irises. Grasped in it's boney fingers is a bag of money; it's fleshy tail wrapped greedily around it...

I took this in April and the grotesque is now in place on the South side of the cathedral... although it isn't visible as scaffolding still shrouds the on-going renovations.
