I am posting this to try and identify it. This huge wasp/hornet was about 2" (50mm) long and was crawling around inside my bungalow in Koh Tao island, Thailand. I didn't want to kill it but I'm allergic to wasps and am not sure I can get the right medical attention on this little island if I got stung. I have tried to identify it online, but haven't found a clear match. Any guesses? It doesn't quite look like the Asian Giant Hornet or the Tarantula Wasp. It has 2 sets of wings and once I had killed it I saw what I think was a stinger come in and out of the back of the abdomen repeatedly (attempting to sting, I assume)? You can see the thorax is separated and the abdomen is separated and turned the wrong way.
