Glug!

Glug! by Anita363.
They closed the bridge to cars. (Fortunately it was still open to pedestrians, because I had to walk over it to get home from work.) I can see why they were worried! The river was 10' over flood stage in Bound Brook, which is ~10 mi upstream of here. Fortunately the bridge is massively overengineered limestone blocks, probably well over 100 yr old (I'll call the town library tomorrow & find out).

Nice capture! I finally moved away from NB in January after many years, I was wondering what it was like down there. Not sure if you were around for the big one in 99, but here's some pics to compare: geography.rutgers.edu/department/scrapbook/pr ojects/rarit...

It's stopped raining -- mostly. Yesterday & today we had scattered showers, but no signif addl accum. Still nasty & raw out, though. Aren't we ever going to get the calm after the storm? (For that matter, aren't we ever going to get spring?) :-)

Chris, thanks for stopping by! Wrong link, though. Looking forward to seeing; please edit. (Took a look at your acct, but didn't see it.)

Awesome -- thank you!

I wasn't here in '99, but my husband remembers it. Looks like it was even worse.

No, this is from the Great Nor'easter of '07. I think it didn't quite break Floyd's record, but it was close. Were you here during Floyd?

I was in the Woodbridge area for Floyd. I think that storm flooded my very dry basement...
