    I rented House of Flying Daggers and apparently it only comes with subtitles for the hard of hearing.

      Yep, it does. Sucks huh!! It's only in the NZ (Region 4) version, I think. The European version I once rented was properly subtitled...

      It actually ruined the movie. It was entirely distracting and kept making me angry. I shouldn't have paid for it - I should have downloaded it from the internet.

      OMG! I am a professional maker of subtitles for the hard of hearing!!!!

      Thinking up descriptions for music and stuff is rather fun. Usually it's just stuff like "Rock music plays" (if it's not a recognisable song), but sometimes it's stuff like "Melancholic guitar instrumental plays". The best ones, though, are sex sound effects.
