Summer

Summer

It already feels like winter over here in Ireland but I couldn't resist the Autumn Leaves theme. Since this apron is for my husband, I decided to keep the colors and decoration simple, with just a couple oak leaves appliqued at the bottom. Hopefully this apron will get very dirty from all the meals he is going to cook for me :-)

Happy rainy days to you in Portland!

This is my first attempt at making an apron. I've been enjoying everyone else's on this website for quite a while. I used a handkerchief that had belonged to my mother for the pocket.

I love everything about autumn - the changing colors of the leaves, eating mountain grown apples, the local fair, family pumpkin carving, and the opportunity to pull out sweaters and bundle up. This apron brings my love of autumn into the kitchen with me. Find out more about my aprons and love of handmade on my blog - madebyemily.tumblr.com.

The fabric is green with leaves, and the pocket is brown with leaves. The button is a handmade wooden
button I bought at an area event.

Her is my autumn leaves apron, made from a vintage pattern using two different fall fabrics.
