    shedded snake skin is very translucent; you can see the ridges of the belly through the skin of the back of the snake...

      thank-you, both :) i was worried that, given the muted, quiet colours the shot would be lacking, but i have no end of faschination with the wonders of nature, as corny as that sounds...so i'm just some others appreciate it's subtle appeal...
