finally caught my favorite band in the city, some cold autumn night on the 27th

*recently acquired a digital camera? it's been almost three years!

it started out one morning when you thought everything was gonna be okay. you open your sleepy eyes, pull on a sweater and pursue another autumn day. then something grasps you, grips you hard in its warm, tightly-clenched knuckles, all bruised and dressed in white, and tries to haunt you into remembering your past mistakes and present obligations. that fist is reality, and it swallows you whole. now you’re sitting in the dark, biting your nails and tapping your foot anxiously awaiting the news of your long lost friend. does he still breathe? has she left us? will we know tomorrow? so maybe i’ll find out on the front lawn or maybe they’ll announce it in the mass i was too scared to attend, maybe through all these staggered breaths and shaky hands we’ll find the answer, and we’ll find peace. maybe it’s okay to cry our hearts out and mourn the reality of it all, the stunning realization that nothing is constant except change itself. it’s bright and warm in the morning, but the night brings spiritual warfare as it tugs at two souls that were too young to leave this world. fate snatched this boy and this girl into its everlasting arms and out of our grasp, so they’ll be sleeping softly now. i just hope that someday soon i can wake up and realize this was all only just a dream.
