circle of life

Friday, August 28, 2009 My husband's Grandma passed away at 97 years old. She left peacefully in her sleep after breakfast with one of her daughter's at her side. It's hard to be sad when it was how she wanted to go, she had been ready for quite some time. I'm sad because we had planned our annual summer visit for Monday of next week. My youngest will never get to meet her. She was always so very proud of her family. Her hospital room is covered with pictures and art work from all the great and great-great grandchildren.

On June 24th of 2004 we made our first trip out to West Virginia to Great Grandma's house. The Son 3 mths, with his Great Grandma, 92. I was really hoping to get a shot of our newest little one in her arms.

Here is another version of their hands

Thank you, I had owned my camera for about a week when we went to visit her. I wish I had done a better job with the lighting. It's the kind of thing that would feel so fake if I tried to re-stage on another visit.

Youth is a great thing, so is wisdom that comes with age. This will be a very special photo for that little hand some day.
