ballet coming soon

I put The Daughter in a very inexpensive ballet class last summer for her to try it out. She really enjoyed it but sadly it was far too late to enroll her in the ballet school by our house for the fall.

I put her in a gymnastics program instead and she wasn't that crazy about it. She enjoyed it but usually asked when she could go back to ballet school on the drive home. I missed putting her in a winter class because I'm a slacker at times. But today I was one of the first to enroll in a small afternoon program in June that meets twice a week. She is thrilled and has been wearing her tutu all day. We're shelling out the big bucks to put in her the real 8 mth class in the fall; complete with spring recital.

She looks so little and babyish in this shot. She's really thinned out and matured over the last seven months.

My Daughter could not care less nowadays. She definitely is not (I say not)a ballet girl any more.. She wants to join the circus. So I promised her to enroll in circus school. And yes, that does exist :)

anyone interested in tutus and shoes???? ;)

Cute! Yeah, C told me last week she wants to do gymnastics instead of ballet next year. 2 days later she came home from school in tears about being afraid of doing the monkey bars in PE. I don't have the heart to tell her that she may not be Nadia or Mary Lou after all.. ; )

very cute shot. our daughter begged to take ballet classes, so we went out and got her this cute ballet outfit and within a few days, she lost interest in the whole thing. we told her we're going to put her in ballet class and she says she doesn't want to take ballet. *sigh* kids.

What a wonderful picture! Brings back memories of when my daughter (now 19) took ballet and tap. Hours spent in the parents waiting room and then the recital -- the little ones are the cutest especially the ones that get stage fright and either cry or just stand there. Thanks for giving me the chance to reminise.

I'm so glad everyone enjoyed this shot. I loved all of her ballet images and have so many more. We went to an Angelina ballerina craft event at Toys R Us yesterday. She was thrilled since she loves all things ballet related. I was also proud that at almost 4 years old she can go in and out of a toy store and it doesn't even occur to her to ask for a toy. She was happy with her craft. I love my low maintenance kids!

I'm hoping since it's just a summer program the school will allow me to photograph at least one of the classes. I know they aren't going to let me with the fall program. Their website is really bad considering their prices and location. Once classes start I'm going to approach the owner about shooting for her website in return for a display in the parent waiting room.

I decided I wanted to dance when I was 2 years old, after my parents took me to see the Nutcracker; I guess it worked out I've been dancing for 11 years now, I'm pretty good at it and and I still love it!
