Blech!

I will gladly drive to DC than go to a bar in Virginia. Most people don't understand this. I guess after growing up in a house where everyone smoked, and I could not get away from it, and I always reeked of f'n cigarette smoke, was always sick, and see how smoking affects people, I want absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, there have been times where I've had to stop alongside 66 on the way home from somewhere to vomit from the effects of it.

The argument that I've always found amusing is that someone will say they've smoked all their lives and never had lung cancer. Maybe not, but I don't exactly consider chronic disease, emphesema, constant sickness, loss of smell and taste, yellowed teeth, bad breath, accelerated aging, and other smoking-related illnesses a great boost to quality of life.

    I'm with you on that. Luckily (for her health) my mom stopped smoking a little after I left college, but before that, I always smelled of smoke....in fact I found out from my high school bf, after we'd dated for a year, that he had hesitated asking me out because he thought I was a smoker. GROSS.

    Yeah, I totally broke up with a girl in college who started smoking again. Yuck.

    As an ex smoker, I thought these were the coolest invention. A trash can dedicated to cigarettes. Nice! They all have different manufacturer names too, my favorite being "Butt Hole". Heh heh. Yeah.
