In the Jesus slum, Nairobi, Kenya, October 2005. (I just took shadow
off her face a bit... ). This taken just as I was leaving after
meeting with a group of women who are hoping to build a community
center so that they can meet, make crafts to sell and work on projects
together.

The blow out is too harsh for such a harsh portrait. It takes too much from her face. But I love this photo.

Somewhat less than ideal lighting conditions detract from a solid image. Too much shadow across her face. A lot of lost detail in the blown out areas (ground, dress). Composition is ok, although I would have shot at her level.

really nice subject, I think these pictures are important, but in this case composition is too centered, the light (and shadows) is too harsh and i would crop a bit.
