The Deptford anchor

At the southern end of Deptford High Street, at the junction with New Cross Road (the A2), this is the famous Deptford anchor, originally located in Chatham Historic Dockyard, and installed in Deptford in 1990. Unfortunately, Lewisham Council has plans to get rid of it as part of its intended regeneration of the high street.
