I have a bit of an obsession. I like the passage of time.

In my opinion, postcards are a way to capture a moment in time as seen through one persons eyes.

As time passes, this old image becomes a historical artefact and as humans we try and preserve these little snippets of history.

I decided to take a bunch of postcards and subvert this idea of the fixed moment in time and so I went and bought a load of old postcards and took myself off to the places that they were taken.

I then took photos from exactly the same angle, or as close as dammit, printed the photos out, then cut both the postcards and the photos in half and stuck them together with sellotape.

In doing so I felt like I was creating a join in time, between the past and the present, showing both continuity and change in one picture.

This is an ongoing project.
