Jack the Ripper's London |
On 29 July 2001, my daughter and I
decided to undertake our own non-guided
tour of Jack the Ripper territory in
acknowledgment of her interest in the
subject. We had hoped that our photos
would somehow capture the essence of
Victorian London. Of course, they don't
very much due to the modern intrusions
of grafitti and parked vehicles, but it
can't be denied that the area still
possesses a certain charm and has a
character all of its own. This small
set also includes photos of some of the
places we passed in addition to the
murder sites.
Unfortunately, crap film was used throughout, so the pictures are very grainy and the colour is highly suspect in places.
31 August 2009: Since compiling this set, we have been on two further (organised) walks, and some of the photos are reproduced here. Most, if not all, are no better than those taken in 2001.
