Texas Wildflowers

100408 INDEPENDENCE, TEXAS: Wildflowers abound at Old Baylor Park in Indpendence, Texas, a few miles north of Brenham in Washington County. This is the site of Baylor University's first co-educational campus (1846-1851), Baylor Female Department (1851-1866), and Baylor College (1866-1886). Now the historic town of Independence is home to not only historical sites like the homesite of Sam Houston, but plenty of wildflower sightings. Old Baylor Park is on F.M. 390 just west of F.M. 50.
