these screws kept the top on the HDD... but they get in the way of allowing it to fit into the NexStar enclosure

top of HDD case with handy pull for e.g. side of laptop.

I had to take the rubber rails and the outer case off the Hitachi drive in order to fit it inside the NexStar caddy... it's a very snug fit and the extra screws and protective case had to come off. But then NexStar provided a screwdriver anyway :-)
